Bernard has been at the heart of the business since 1972. Although now retired from active funeral duties, he remains closely involved, offering his wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Bernard’s long-standing dedication and deep understanding of the profession continue to guide and inspire the way we work today.
Chris Melia — Funeral Director & Partner
Chris, son of Bernard and Marie, has worked in the family business for over 30 years. Deeply committed to continuing the values his parents built, he now leads the business into the future while maintaining the personal care and professionalism that families have trusted for generations.
Anne Pickersgill — Accounts Manager
Anne is the daughter of Bernard and Marie Melia , bringing over 40 years’ experience from her career in the NHS. She’s also ran her own small businesses, so she knows exactly what it takes to keep things organised and running smoothly. Always approachable and happy to help, Anne combines professionalism with a personal touch.
David Atherton — Funeral Operative
David has been a valued member of our team for 14 years, supporting every aspect of our work with care and dedication. His experience and steady approach help ensure that every detail is handled with respect and professionalism.
Gill Shannon — Funeral Administrator
Gill has been part of our team for 8 years, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous role as a school administrator. Warm, caring, and highly organised, she helps ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes while offering a friendly face to families.
